Course Description:
This approach to floral painting in acrylic will give you new approaches to both the design/composition and the paint application for your work. We are concentrating on negative space, palette knife painting, applying fluid paint and using acrylic ‘peels’.
Materials list:
- Three 18x18 or 20x20” gallery style canvases, remove the plastic and sign your name in pencil on the back
- One 6x6” wood panel
- Jar of matt GEL medium and a bottle of matt medium
- Inexpensive acrylic paint such as Rheotech or Artist’s Loft - primary colours plus white in 250 ml jars - its about quantity not quality
- Rubber spatula and plastic tubs for mixing paint
- Diamond shaped palette knife
- Peelable pad of palette paper
- Six - approx. 5 inch tall plastic bottle with pointed lids from the dollar store of baking dept of Michaels
- Plastic bag for garbage
- Paper towels, pencil , sketchbook brushes and paint you already have
