Acrylic from A to C

Each week we will tackle a different painting while exploring the uses of various mediums, both heavy body and fluid acrylic, both palette knife and brushwork through a variety of painting subjects.

Supplies to be purchased before class:

Materials List (this is the absolute basics - you will add as you go)

• • 6 -  16x16” or 16x20” - (no larger) , regular or gallery style canvases
  • The primary colours plus white in heavy body/ tube acrylics
  • 3 bottles fluid acrylic in the primary colours
  • Gloss medium, matt gel medium, Molding paste and gesso
  • Long handled, soft bristled, flat brushes
  • A pad of pealable palette paper
  • Low plastic water containers
  • Paper towels
  • Sketchbook and pencil
  • Printed Photos for reference, not on your phone or ipad
  • 2 plastic bottles with pointed lids (found in cake decorating section at Michaels)
  • Spray bottle (water)
  • Burnt sienna, anthraquinone blue and quinacridone burnt orange ( heavy body acrylic)
  • Black sharpie marker, fine point
